Goldring says Liberal MPs Betraying Their Supporters

Edmonton East Member of Parliament Peter Goldring said today Quebec Liberal MPs are betraying federalist voters and should be ashamed to even consider an alliance with a separatist party.

In the House of Commons today Mr. Goldring asked Quebec Liberal MP Raymonde Folco about "the thousands of voters in Quebec who voted for the Liberals to support federalism, and particularly not to be voting for the separatists and what she feels now about those thousands of voters who feel betrayed by this unconscionable alliance with the separatists and virtually turning the keys of Ottawa over to the separatists?"

The proposed separatist-socialist coalition that wants to govern Canada has no mandate from Canadians, Mr. Goldring points out.

"After almost 20 years of irrelevance in Ottawa, the Bloc finally have help in putting forth their agenda for Quebec separation. The supposedly federalist Liberal and New Democrat members have abandoned their principles in their lust for power. Those great Canadian leaders of the past, Pierre Trudeau and Tommy Douglas would not recognize their successors and would certainly be mortified at how low their once respected parties have sunk."
