Peter Goldring Announces Funding for the 4th Annual Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Adventure

Edmonton, Alberta – Peter Goldring, Conservative Member of Parliament for Edmonton East, today announced contribution funding for the fourth annual, Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Adventure festival, celebrating the local arts and culture of the Edmonton Community.

“Our Government is proud to support the Arts of on the Ave Edmonton Society,” said Mr. Goldring. “By partnering with communities to support activities that celebrate our shared history and our rich cultural diversity, we are fulfilling our commitment to strengthen our communities and support arts, culture and heritage.”

“Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Adventure is excellent opportunity for the Edmonton community to experience local talent. The Arts of the Ave Society Edmonton continually provides positive outdoor festivals, such as Deep Freeze, for building community spirit through embracing various forms of artistry.”

The Arts on the Ave Edmonton Society has received $12,600 through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program to help present its fourth annual Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Adventure, which will take place on January 8th and 9th, 2011 in Alberta Avenue area. Festival activities include music, theatre, storytelling, dance and an ice and snow sculpture garden.

The Government of Canada created the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program in September 2007. This program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in local activities that present arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage. This program will benefit many community events and celebrations throughout Canada this year.
